Mass Voter Challenges in Gwinnett County & Beyond

In America, the right to vote is sacred. However, some Georgia lawmakers want to place undue and unequal burdens on Georgians attempting to exercise their right to vote. If the legislature doesn’t act urgently, many Georgians will have more difficulty voting than other Americans.

Protecting Absentee Voting & Redistricting:

In America, the right to vote is sacred. However, some Georgia lawmakers want to place undue and unequal burdens on Georgians attempting to exercise their right to vote. If the legislature doesn’t act urgently, many Georgians will have more difficulty voting than other Americans.

Out-of-state extremists have weaponized voter registration in our state by attempting to influence the outcome of our elections by forcing hard-working Georgians to step away from their daily responsibilities to prove the accuracy of their voter registration. These groups think they can win by scaring voters away. It’s time for Georgia’s legislature to stand up to these outside agitators and protect our right to have our vote counted and our voices heard.

HB 1010 - Paid Family Leave for Working Georgians!

We are proud to share that one of our top legislative priorities, HB 1010, has passed! This bipartisan-supported bill doubles paid parental leave for public employees & educators, so that parents can care for their children during those tender first weeks that the child enters the home. Although too many Georgians fall within the leave gap, this is a positive next step for working families in our state!

No matter where we live, what we look like, how we pray or how we vote, Georgians put family first. Every Georgian’s most important responsibility is caring for our loved ones when they need it the most. Nothing should get in the way of that.

But bills don’t stop coming when we need time away from work to care for a newborn, a sick child or an aging parent, or to tend to our own health. And some bosses don’t respect that sometimes working people need time to take care of family. They put Georgians in a cruel and unjust bind between keeping their paycheck or being there for a vulnerable loved one. Employers who force Georgia families into these cruel dilemmas need to be stopped – especially workplaces funded by the taxpayer.

We all need a caring hand when we’re in ill health, and we all need food on the table. Some employers respect that, but others driven by greed and power will only do the right thing if it’s required by law. That’s why we need paid leave legislation, for public employees and everyone else. With guaranteed paid leave, working Georgians can have peace of mind and financial security when we have to pause work and put family first.
